📋 Tips for Growing Cabbage

Soil Requirements:

• Well-drained medium loam or sandy loam soil is ideal

Sowing Guidelines:

• Sowing Time: As per local/regional schedule
• Germination Temperature: Optimal at 25°C – 30°C
• Transplanting: 25–30 days after sowing

Spacing:

• Early Maturity: Row to Row: 45 cm, Plant to Plant: 30 cm
• Late Maturity: Row to Row: 60 cm, Plant to Plant: 45 cm

Seed Rate:

• Early Maturity: 180–200 g/acre
• Late Maturity: 120–150 g/acre

Field Preparation:

• Deep ploughing and harrowing to prepare fine tilth
• Apply 7–8 tons/acre of well-decomposed FYM (farmyard manure)
• Mix FYM thoroughly with the soil
• Open ridges and furrows at recommended spacing
• Apply basal fertilizer before transplanting
• Irrigate the field one day before transplanting
• Transplant in the late afternoon for better establishment
• Give light irrigation immediately after transplanting
