Soil Requirements:

• Well-drained medium loam or sandy loam soils are ideal

Sowing & Transplanting:

• Sowing Time: Based on regional practices and climate
• Optimum Germination Temperature: 25°C – 30°C
• Transplanting: 25–30 days after sowing

Spacing:

• Early Maturity: Row: 45 cm, Plant: 30 cm
• Late Maturity: Row: 60 cm, Plant: 45 cm

Seed Rate:

• Early Maturity: 180 – 200 g/acre
• Late Maturity: 120 – 150 g/acre

Field Preparation:

• Deep ploughing followed by harrowing to achieve fine tilth

• Irrigate one day before transplanting
