Specification :
Seed Rate and Sowing :
- Palak can be grown throughout the year.
- For winters: Use 4–6 kg seeds per acre.
- For summers: Use 10–15 kg seeds per acre.
- Sow seeds at a depth of 3–4 cm, with 20 cm spacing between rows.
Manures and Fertilizers :
- Apply 10 tonnes of farmyard manure per acre.
- Use 35 kg Nitrogen (75 kg Urea) and 12 kg P2O5 (75 kg Superphosphate) per acre.
- Apply full dose of farmyard manure, P2O5 and half of Nitrogen before sowing.
- Apply the remaining half Nitrogen in two splits after cutting, followed by irrigation.
Irrigation :
- First irrigation immediately after sowing.
- In summer: Irrigate every 4–6 days.
- In winter: Irrigate every 10–12 days.
Harvesting :
- Spinach is ready for cutting after 3–4 weeks of sowing.
- Subsequent cutting should be done at intervals of 20–25 days.
