Council Active Herbicide
Council® Active – Post-Emergent Herbicide for Rice
Council® Active is a powerful post-emergence herbicide developed for use in both transplanted rice and direct seeded rice (wet DSR). It provides one-shot, season-long control of weeds including grasses, sedges, and broadleaf species—resulting in increased productivity and reduced labor costs.
Technical Content:
Active Ingredients | Triafamone 20% + Ethoxysulfuron 10% WG |
Key Features:
- Suitable for transplanted and direct seeded rice (wet DSR)
- Controls grasses, broadleaf weeds, and sedges
- Selective, safe for rice crop when used as recommended
- Provides long residual effect and season-long weed control
- Reduces time and labor for manual weeding
Mode of Action:
Council® Active is absorbed mainly through weed leaves. Once inside, it is metabolized to a potent compound that inhibits the acetolactate synthase (ALS) enzyme—essential for weed growth. This disruption leads to weed death while leaving the rice crop unharmed.
Usage Guidelines:
- Time of Application: 10–15 days after planting OR at 2–4 weed leaf stage
- Dosage: 90 g per acre
- Drain water completely from the field before application
- Ensure adequate soil moisture before spraying
- Maintain moisture for at least 10 days post-application
