Harvesting Instructions
- Stop irrigation two weeks before harvest
- After harvesting, cure bulbs in the field for 5–6 days along with tops
- Cover bulbs during curing to prevent sun scalding
- After drying, remove roots and neck (do not cut neck close to bulb)
Main Field Preparation
- Deep ploughing followed by 1–2 harrowings
- Incorporate 7–8 tons per acre of well-decomposed FYM
- Apply basal fertilizer dose at transplanting
- Irrigate the field before transplanting seedlings
Fertilizer Schedule
- Basal dose at transplanting: 30:30:30 NPK kg/acre
- Top dressing at 20 days: 25:25:25 NPK kg/acre
- Top dressing at 45–50 days: 0:0:25 NPK kg/acre
- Sulphur (Bensulf): 10–15 kg/acre at 40–50 days after transplanting
