Temperature

Optimum germination: 18°C to 26°C. Proper fruit color formation: 26°C to 32°C. Avoid regions with temperatures exceeding 35°C or below 15.5°C, as they inhibit ripening.

Soil

Suitable for all soil types, from light sandy to heavy clay. Best in well-drained, fertile soils rich in organic matter with pH 6.0 to 7.0. Sandy loam is ideal for early crops. Moderately tolerant to acidic soils (pH 5.5).

Irrigation

Maintain moderate soil moisture. Avoid overwatering to prevent excessive vine growth and flower drop. Summer: irrigate every 3-4 days. Winter/Spring: every 10-15 days. Ensure irrigation during flowering and fruiting stages for high-quality yields.

Isolation

Maintain 50 m distance for foundation seed and 25 m for certified seed between varieties to prevent cross-pollination.

Drying and Storage

Small-scale: sun drying up to 10-12% moisture. Large-scale: drier up to 7-8% moisture. Store seeds at 8-10% moisture in moisture-vapor proof containers.
