Red Palm Weevil – Pheromone Lure

Red Palm Weevil (RPW) Lure is a specialized pheromone attractant extracted from male weevils to effectively lure both male and female pests into traps like Coco-Trapp®. It plays a vital role in monitoring and managing RPW infestations in coconut and palm plantations.

🔍 Damage Symptoms

• Visible holes on the stem with brown, viscous fluid oozing out
• Extrusion of chewed-up fibers from stem holes
• Audible gnawing sounds from feeding grubs in severe cases
• Yellowing of inner whorl of leaves in advanced stages
• Crown falls or dries up as the palm dies

🧪 Control Measures

• Install pheromone traps to lure and trap weevils
• Practice clean cultivation by removing decayed palms and stumps
• Burn infested material after splitting open
• Prevent trunk injuries; apply carbaryl/Thiodan + soil paste to wounds
• Retain at least 1 meter of petiole while pruning leaves

📦 Dosage & Usage Instructions

• 1 lure per trap
• 1 trap for every 10 trees
• Replace lure every 6 months

For best results, use with Coco-Trapp® or other compatible pheromone traps.
