Agronomy Guidelines

• Suitable Zones: All India
• Land Preparation: Select well-drained medium to heavy soil; apply FYM during ploughing.
• Seed Treatment: Treat with Carbendazim 2 g + Thiram 2 g per kg of seeds.
• Sowing Season: Summer, Rabi, Kharif (as per variety recommendation)
• Seed Rate: 100–120 g per acre
• Sowing Method: Nursery sowing; transplant seedlings after 21 days
• Spacing: 60 x 30 cm

Fertilizer Application

• Total Requirement: N:P:K = 80:100:120 kg/acre
• Basal Dose: 50% N and 100% P & K at final land prep
• Top Dressing: 25% N at 20 DAS + 25% N at 35 DAS

Weed & Pest Management

• Weeding: Two timely weedings recommended
• Pest Control: Preventive sprays for DBM and leaf-eating caterpillars (summer crop)

Irrigation Schedule

• Light Soils & Summer: Higher frequency required
• Pre-Transplanting: Irrigate in summer; give light irrigation 2nd day after transplant

Harvesting

Cabbages mature in 65–75 days after transplanting. Harvest once heads are compact. Pre-harvest irrigation is recommended, leaving 3–4 lower leaves at harvest.

Expected Yield

18 – 20 MT per acre (depending on season and cultivation practices).
