SUN BIO AZOS (BIO FERTILIZER AZOSPIRILLUM)
About SUN BIO AZOS (BIO FERTILIZER – AZOSPIRILLUM)
Sun Bio Azos contains associative symbiotic nitrogen-fixing bacteria, Azospirillum. It fixes atmospheric nitrogen by living in close proximity with the root zone. It is tolerant to low pH and salt, and forms cysts to survive unfavorable conditions. Under favorable conditions, it thrives and provides 30–50% of the nitrogen requirement of plants.
Technical Details
| Technical Name | Nitrogen Fixing Bacteria – Azospirillum |
| CFU Count | 2 × 109 Cells / ml |
| Mode of Action | When applied to the soil, dormant Azospirillum cells get activated using carbon sources from root exudates. It attaches to roots (associative N-fixation) or sometimes becomes endophytic. Produces plant growth hormones like Indole Acetic Acid (IAA) and Gibberellins, promoting root proliferation. Converts atmospheric nitrogen into ammonium ions, making nitrogen available for bio-organic compound synthesis. |
Key Features & Benefits
- Fixes about 15–20 kg N/ha.
- Reduces chemical nitrogen fertilizer use by up to 30%.
- Promotes seed germination, plant growth, vigor, and yield.
- Improves soil microbial activity and soil fertility.
- Releases growth-promoting substances like IAA and Gibberellins.
- Exhibits anti-fungal activities under certain conditions, indirectly preventing fungal diseases.
- Enhances crop yield and quality.
Usage & Recommended Crops
Recommended Crops: Cereals, millets, fruits, vegetables, flowers, plantation, and field crops.
Dosage & Method of Application
- Seed / Planting Material Treatment (Per kg): Mix 10 ml in cold jaggery solution, coat seeds evenly, dry in shade, and sow the same day.
- Seedling Treatment: Mix 10 ml in 1 liter of water and dip seedling roots for 5–10 minutes before transplanting.
- Soil Application (Per Acre): Mix 1 liter with 50–100 kg of well-decomposed manure/cake and apply evenly on moist soil.
- Drenching: Mix 5–10 ml in 1 liter of water and apply near the root zone.
- Fertigation (Per Acre): Mix 1–2 liters in water and apply in the root zone through drip irrigation.
